LIGHT VERSUS DARKNESS

1 John 1:5-7

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Encouraging Words

Light is such a necessary component of life. Without it there is death. Even in the depths of the ocean, where light cannot penetrate, the creatures that are there, generate luminescence, or light. God is light. He is not just the source of light, He is light. He is the source of all life that thrives on His light. As followers of Christ we must choose to be His light in this dark world. If we choose to walk in darkness, support those who do the deeds of darkness in this world, and cheer on actions of darkness, then we lie about being His followers. Lord have mercy on those who proclaim Him as their Lord and yet relish in darkness. Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
