OUR COMMANDMENT

1 John 2:7

Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.

Personal Challenge

Jesus did not come to force His followers to follow the Old Testament laws. Those laws were established to point to the Messiah, Jesus. Jesus fulfilled all these laws and did not issue a new commandment, but reiterated what the true essence of those laws meant. They were given to us to teach us to love, to love God and to love others. If we desire to be true followers of Christ then we must love as He did. Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy! Lord have mercy!
