REMOVING THE DROSS
Proverbs 25:4
Beat drossy silver,
And it will be made entirely clean.
Personal Challenge
Something as pure and beautiful as silver does not start out that way. Silver as it is found in the field is not clean and pure. It always has dross, or unwanted material, embedded in it. The silversmith will heat it and pound on it to bring the dross to the surface so that it can be removed and discarded. This is the same with us humans. We have sinful passions within our lives. Through our journey to theosis, God will apply challenges and opportunities for growth that will get hot and often feel like we are being beaten. It is through these events the the dross, those sinful passions, will be brought to the surface and ultimately removed. This allows us to be cleansed and shine bright like purified silver. Glory be to God!
