LOVING RIGHTEOUSNESS
Wisdom of Solomon 8:7 (not in Protestant Bible)
If anyone loves righteousness,
The products of righteousness are the virtues.
For wisdom teaches self-control, discernment, righteousness and courage,
Concerning which things there is nothing more valuable in the life of man.
Personal Challenge
We are instructed throughout the scriptures to observe the fruit of one’s labors to determine where their heart and mind are. As followers of Christ, we are to be lovers of righeousness, which will lead to fruit that exhibit the virtues. Some of these virtues are self-control, discernment, righteousness, and courage. As these virtues develop and grow in our lives we begin to see their fruit. As Galatians 5: 22-23 teaches, this fruit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We cannot be truly trying to follow Christ and have fruit in our life that clearly contradicts these spiritual gifts. Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy !
